Most of the housing around KW (including ours) is of course the generic, nice enough but vaguely characterless newer suburbia. Very comfortable to live in, but pretty much one like the next. We've been keeping a bit of an eye on stuff in Guelph for if/when we decide to move there. Guelph has its share of suburbia (and who knows, probably we'd end up there), but also a lot of rural residential areas just outside, with its share of hilly wooded areas, a few rivers which create nice landscapes like the Elora gorge, Rockwood, etc.
Happened to stumble across this listing for a Olde English Country Pub home just outside of Rockwood (so about 15 minutes east of Guelph). Old 1850's general store building, totally gutted in 2000 and done up with old antique style but still very modern, high end features. Worth a few minutes just reading through the listing pages the realtor has put together. Not exactly our thing, but a very cool and impressive place.
