Pauline's taking the first two weeks of January off work; besides the quick Edmonton trip, hoping to get a good jump on finding a place in Guelph. Met with the realtor we'll use to sell our place in KW, so that should be ready to go when we need it. We're apparently also going on a week long Carribean cruise (err, Continuing Medical Education course) end of February.
Gus has a good post on doing the indie programmer thing... some perspective on the modest and careful approach he took, which isn't uncommon. The real trick I think with him getting where he got has been to become known in a certain circle of Mac developers, where he's picked up a fair bit of buzz from people like Brent Simmons.
Picked up and had a skim through David Allen's "Getting Things Done", the current in-vogue personal organization bible. Not planning on drinking the Kool-aid, but decided a while back I needed to find a way to get a lot of the things kicking around in my head out of my head, which is one of the hallmarks of GTD. Hard to get those two brain cells to rub together with all the other clutter in the way. Picked up a few ideas from the book anyway.
No reports of "Industrial Disease" moments from the psych units this year... i.e. multiple psychotic patients who think they're Jesus (my advice is always put them in a room and let them fight it out).
In any case, a slightly belated happy holidays to everyone!
