Took part in the first Guelph DemoCamp last evening, held at one of the local watering holes. Got a good crowd of people out, mostly from Guelph of course, but a few from nearby... Toronto, Waterloo, etc. Not knowing anybody here, it was a good chance to meet a few people in the local tech community, dig up the inevitable common connections, and so on.
The demos were a good mix of cool (one in particular, not yet launched) and/or entertaining, with the tone being refreshingly self-deprecating. Reaction all around seemed to be that a good time was had by all, the opportunity to make local connections like this was greatly valued, and that we'd look forward to doing this again real soon...
